By accessing or using CoSplit, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Description of Service

CoSplit is a web application that helps users split receipts and bills among participants. The service provides receipt image scanning via AI-powered OCR, cost allocation, and sharing features. CoSplit is provided free of charge.

Account and Authentication

• You must sign in with a valid Google account to use CoSplit.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and any activity that occurs under it.
• You must provide accurate information and keep your account information current.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, fraudulent, or infringes on others' rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other accounts, or connected systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, including circumventing rate limits or security measures.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the service without permission.
• Upload content other than receipt images (such as identity documents or sensitive personal records).

Your Content

• You retain ownership of all content you upload, including receipt images and participant information.
• By uploading content, you grant CoSplit a limited license to process, store, and display that content as necessary to provide the service — including sending receipt images to third-party AI services for OCR processing.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and share any content, including receipt images that may contain others' information.

Public Sharing

When you make a receipt public, all receipt details — including store name, items, prices, participant names, and split amounts — become accessible to anyone with the link. You are responsible for ensuring all participants consent to this sharing before making a receipt public.

AI-Powered Features

CoSplit uses Google Gemini AI to extract data from receipt images. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated results may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted data before finalizing a split. CoSplit is not responsible for inaccuracies in AI-processed data.

Service Availability

CoSplit is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without prior notice.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoSplit and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data arising from your use of the service.

CoSplit is a tool for splitting bills among friends and is not a financial service. It does not handle payments, transfers, or financial transactions of any kind. All calculations are provided for informational purposes only.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of CoSplit after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
